CENTRAL FIRE STATION RENOVATION, Portsmouth, NH

Structural framing and brick façade modifications to historic building were designed for the purpose of housing new fire apparatus. 

EBENEZER BAPTIST CHURCH ROOF REHABILITATION, Cambridge, MA

Project involved structural analysis and rehabilitation of a damaged historic 1870’s church roof composed of timber scissor trusses.

RED ROOF INN, Boston, MA

Design of multi-story reinforced masonry block wall and precast concrete slab building with “soft” first floor.

 

HOPEDALE JUNIOR/SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, Hopedale, MA

Design review of new 3 story, 60,000 square foot steel framed building,

 

HYDE PARK HIGH SCHOOL, Hyde Park, MA

Design of entryway stairs to resemble original historic cut granite stairway.  Supporting structural elements were composed of reinforced concrete over an open lower level.

 

MARSH SCHOOL, Methuen, MA

Structural design for support of elliptical acoustic batten panels for auditorium.

 

AUBURN MALL DUE DILIGENCE STUDY, Auburn, Maine

Performed inspection and due diligence report of all structural and roofing systems for the Auburn Mall.

 

ALLEQUIPPA TERRACE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT, Pittsburgh, PA

Design of timber structural elements of public residential housing for “The Hill District” in Pittsburgh PA.

 

BABSON COLLEGE DORMATORY PEER REVIEW, Wellsley, Massachusetts

Conducted peer review of new steel framed college dormitory structure as designed by Architects Goody, Clancy & Associates, Inc. against the requirements of the Massachusetts Building Code 6th edition.

 

CRESENT FIELD HOUSING DEVELOPMENT, Newton, MA

Design of various wood truss and rafter systems for multiple post and beam style housing. Project involved 20-unit of newly constructed mixed income community, with first time homebuyer and rental units.

 

BARNABY=S RESTAURANT RENOVATION, North Conway, NH

Prepared structural design for renovation of a timber post and beam structure.  The structure was damaged by fire in 1996 and had been condemned by the building inspector.  An in-depth investigation revealed that many of the timber beam and column members remained undamaged  and measurements confirmed that only minimal loss to the clear wood section was evident.  Existing 2nd floor main beams were strengthened with glue laminated members and additional posts were added to 1st floor members to bring the structure into conformance with the building code.

 

HEIDELBERG WEB PRESS BUILDING RENOVATION, Dover, NH

Designed new steel framing and temporary support system to carry existing steel joists and structural steel for a two level industrial facility.

 

HEIDELBERG WEB PRESS BUILDING RENOVATION, Durham, NH

Designed new steel wind girts needed to facilitate installation of full height windows.

 

CARE PHARMACY EXPANSION, Somersworth, NH

Designed structural steel girders, columns and foundations to replace an existing masonry bearing wall.  Analyzed existing structure to determined that additional bracing was required to support the structure against design wind loads.  Also suggested corrections to existing structural deficiencies found during the inspection.

 

HISTORIC (1839) TOWN HALL EVALUATION, Weare, NH

Provided inspection, evaluation and structural load rating analysis for a 160 year old timber post and beam structure.  The building has two levels with a full attic and bell tower.  All timber connections were either notched, dapped or pegged.  The second floor framing was supported by steel rod hangers connected to the roof truss.  The Town requested that an analysis be performed to determine whether needed improvements to bring the existing structure up to current code requirements for the intended change in occupancy.

 

YOUNGS RESTAURANT EXPANSION, Durham, NH

Designed new timber framing for expansion of the existing restaurant.

 

SOMERSWORTH AUTO CENTER BUILDING, Somersworth, NH

Designed structural steel for construction of a proposed automobile  showroom.

 

LAFAYETTE PLAZA SHOPPING CENTER, Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Provided structural analysis services for evaluation of steel joist and girder roof framing and concrete masonry unit bearing walls.

BEST WESTERN HOTEL, 891 Massachusetts Avenue, Roxbury, MA

Performed 3d computer analysis of existing dome space frame roof structure for compliance with the structural provisions of the Mass Building code.

BELNAP MILL HISTORIC BUILDING EVALUATION, Laconia, NH

Investigated cause of accelerated brick and lime mortar deterioration and its effect on the overall structural integrity of the building.

TYLER MACHINE TOOL OFFICE BUILDING, Seabrook, NH

Designed new 8,000 sf office building to serve the administrative needs of the proposed industrial facility.  This two level structure was designed as a steel braced frame with a split face masonry block exterior.
